Kilima Camp

This word ‘’Kilima’’ means a mountain or little hill and the camp is set on the edge of the Siria escarpment at 1,800 meters above the sea level and overlooks the Mara River, which hosts the spectacular annual migration of Wildebeests.

However, the Mara River and the Mara plains are all at an altitude of 1,500 meters. Kilima Camp has a fascinating location on the western border of the epic Maasai Mara National Reserve for travelers who wish to enjoy a memorable safari holiday in Africa (Kenya) and hence travelers will get panoramic views of the reserve.

Kilima camp has been built on a private concession bordering the current boundary, the official perimeter of the Mara Triangle Wilderness Area (one of the tree contiguous administrative areas forming what is known as the Masai Mara National Reserve).

Offering unrivalled aerial views across the Masai Mara and the river Mara, the camp allows guests to appreciate the enormity of their surroundings.

Kilima camp’s exclusive position provides a natural degree of privacy and its enviable location also offers guests the chance to discover local wildlife as well as learning about Masai customs and traditions on a variety of nature walks originating from the proximity of the camp.

With the entrance to the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Mara Triangle (Oloololo Gate) and local airstrip (Kichwa Tembo) just a fifteen minute drive away, Kilima Camp is not only easy to reach but also the perfect and convenient base from which to explore the Masai Mara plains and its wildlife.

The spacious central main building is Kilima Camp’s meeting place where guests gather to eat, drink, talk, play games, read, or just enjoy the view before or after a safari in the Maasai Mara.

The camp boosts two new restaurants which are divided by a very nice new built bar lounge with fantastic views of the Mara River and Mara plains.

One of the new restaurants has a new inbuilt fire place where one can relax with a drink after dinner and both restaurants will cater for buffets.

Before and after dinner, guests can relax by the camp fire or at the camp’s very special bush bar or even  around one of the sundowners and listen to the magical sounds of the African bush, all these under the spectacular African sky where the stars seem brighter than anywhere else!
